Fortsofkarnataka.com is an idea that came out of my converging interests of history, travel, photography and software development. I used to do a lot of weekend trips around Bangalore. Many of these were hill forts. While researching some of these forts, would often hear about Navadurgas. Navadurgas are nine hill forts in Mysore region. There are plenty of sources mentioning Navadurgas but none gave the entire list. My quest for finding out the list is still on after all these years. However, researching for the Navadurga forts, I came to know of so many forts present in Karnataka. I thought a comprehensive list of all the forts in Karnataka at one place with their information, history and photos will be a cool idea and thus was born this site in 2012.

While I have not visited all of the forts, I will upload the photos of the ones that I have visited. I hope to write articles for all of these forts, scouring the history books for information about them.
