Taluk - Devanahalli, District - Bangalore Rural
Kundana

Kundana is a small hill fort and is located by the village of the same name in Devanahalli Taluk. It is a small hill which can be ascended in less than half an hour. Village is on southern side of the hill and the path to climb starts from village and takes you to the opposite side of the hill before you start a steep ascent which leads you to the entrance of the fort. From here, there are directions painted on the rocks leading you to the top. It houses two temples on top of the hill, Sri Chennakeshava swamy and Anjaneya Swami temples. There is a small pond in front of Chennakeshava swamy temple. Villagers are of the opinion that the temples are very old, though they cannot ascertain the exact age.

In westerns side of the hill top, there is a platform kind of structure, which seems like it is foundation for a mantapa or a temple. The steps to climb on to the platform are on the eastern edge of this structure. To the west of this structure and at the western edge of the hill top there is a pillar with floral designs sculpted on it.

Kundana is a sleepy village yet not too far from Bangalore International Airport. However, getting there by public transport is a bit difficult. BMTC Bus Route No 298E takes you directly to Kundana. Another way is to take a bus till Chapparadakallu which is midway between Doddaballapur and Devanahalli on NH207 and take an Auto from there. Kundana is just 2-3kms from ChapparadaKallu junction.
